Business Location LDS
The Landkreis (administrative district) Dahme-Spreewald (LDS), which is situated between Berlin and the Niederlausitz region, is one of the most attractive areas for businesses in the Federal State of Brandenburg. The area owes its attractivity to its convenient position right in the geographical centre of the Single European Market, its close proximity to the German capital Berlin, its excellent infrastructure and, not to forget, to the high quality of life that it has to offer. There are approximately 55,000 people employed by the local companies based in this area, most of which are small to medium-sized businesses.

Current economic development
Currently, the district's strongest economic growth is taking place in five focus industries: aerospace, logistics, tourism, food production/processing/distribution and metalworking. These industries are, to some extent, being assisted by the government of the State of Brandenburg.
